School Physical Education
Motor development, movement culture and inclusion in early childhood and primary education, with planning aligned to Brazil's national curriculum and education law.
School Physical Education is neither recreation nor early sports training. It is a curricular component with its own learning objectives, and a child's body is the instrument through which they come to know the world.
I teach Physical Education at Colégio Cristão Attos II, working with early childhood and primary classes. The work involves motor development, coordination, circuits, team sports and, running through all of it, building cooperation, respect for rules and shared living.
Planning is pedagogical before it is athletic: every activity exists because it develops something identifiable in the child, not because it fills the lesson.
Development axes
Motor coordination
Gross and fine, the foundation of all later motor learning.
Balance
Static and dynamic, essential for autonomy and safety.
Laterality
Recognition and command of the body's sides in space.
Speed and agility
Fast motor response and efficient change of direction.
Flexibility
Joint range preserved from childhood onwards.
Strength and endurance
Developed with load appropriate and absolutely safe for each age.
Body awareness
Perception of self, of one's own limits and of the surrounding space.
Rhythm and spatial organisation
Temporal and spatial structuring of movement.
School inclusion
Inclusion is not adapting an activity the moment a student arrives. It is planning the lesson, from the outset, on the understanding that the class is diverse.
I have practical experience with autistic students, students with ADHD, wheelchair users and other specific needs. The goal is always genuine participation in the activity, not token presence in the room.
- Students on the autism spectrum
- Students with ADHD
- Wheelchair users
- A range of specific needs
- Activity adaptation without separating the student from the group
- Coordination with pedagogical staff and families
